

Wrapping Up the Season
It's the last month of the spring semester. There is one more tournament. Then the BCFU End of the Year party. No I'm not crying, you're crying. Let's reminisce on the past couple of weeks. Since the second to last tournament, the National Speech Championship, on March 24, we have had a lot of on campus activities. Varsity Semifinalist at National Speech Championship
Three BCFU team members traveled to the National Speech Championship in Lincoln, NE, on March 24-25. Junior Avery James was a national semifinalist in Program Oral Interpretation. BCFU enjoyed their time at their first NSC tournament Berry has gone to. The last tournament of the season is the Interstate Oratorical Association National Championship on April 28-29. BCFU Spring Break: Novice National Champions
While they could have gone to the beach for Spring Break, 14 first year members of BCFU instead traveled to Suffolk University in Boston to compete in the Novice Nationals Forensics Association National Tournament on March 9-11. After three difficult days of competition, the team had an unprecedented 27 national finalists and a team National Championship. BCFU had an impressive 370 points overall, winning the team first place by 175 points. This marks the first time BCFU has


BCFU Earns State Championship
BCFU won their 24th consecutive Georgia Intercollegiate Forensics Association Team State Championship on Feb. 17. Nineteen members of the BCFU traveled to the University of North Georgia-Gainesville and defended their title, earning 42 individual awards and 11 out of 14 available individual state championships. This year was especially impressive with 13 of the competitors being in their first year of competition and no seniors on the roster. The top two places in persuasion


BCFU Places Second at Jackson Purchase Swing
BCFU traveled to Murray State University on Feb. 1 to compete in the Jackson Purchase Swing with 18 members. The team did very well as a whole and placed third place on Saturday, second on Sunday, and overall placed second for the entire tournament. There were 49 individual awards, with 12 of those being event championships. BCFU Serves on MLK Day
On Monday, Berry College campus was closed due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Berry College students devoted the day to serving the Rome community, and BCFU was no exception. Team members served at the South Rome Community Garden by pulling weeds and cleaning garden plots. Autumn in the Mountains
The weekend before Halloween, BCFU did not have to travel far to gather with fellow forensics teams to compete. Berry College hosted a tournament on campus. Novice team members competed, while the rest of the team ran the tournament. The tournament went smoothly and the novices did very well!
